I’m Simon, a filmmaker and visual storyteller with a background in fashion, design and creative production.
I’m drawn to stories shaped by place, atmosphere and the small details that give an image character.
My background
My route into film hasn’t been completely conventional. I originally trained in fashion and visual design, where I developed a strong interest in composition, colour, styling and the way visual choices shape how something feels.
That eventually led me towards film and visual storytelling. I’m currently completing an MA in Film & Television at Falmouth University, where my work has explored documentary, experimental film, creative production and stories connected to place and identity.
Alongside film, I work with photography, short form content and creative concepts, particularly across travel, hospitality, lifestyle and visually led branded work.
What interests me most is finding the mood of a story. Sometimes that comes from a person. Sometimes from architecture, landscape, light, texture or a tiny detail that might otherwise be overlooked.
How I work
I like to begin by understanding what a project is trying to communicate and what the audience should take from it. From there, I develop the idea through research, references and visual planning before working out how best to bring it to life.
Depending on the project, that can mean developing a treatment, planning a shoot, shaping the creative direction, filming, editing or coordinating the different elements needed to deliver the finished work.
I enjoy working across the whole process, from the first idea through to final delivery, combining creative thinking with the practical side of making something happen.
